Where can I get Nystatin?

Magnifying glass.png

What is Nystatin?

Nystatin is a second line anti-fungal generally used when azoles fail.

Nystatin used to be manufactured in the UK however due to cost-saving measures, it is now made in Germany. Getting hold of the drug can be challenging.

GPs should be asked to prescribe the pessaries if clotrimazole has failed. Some GP systems do not allow them to prescribe the drug, in which case phone 111 and you can get the drug remotely prescribed by an on call gyno or nurse.

You may need a prescription from a consultant in your GP records for the 111 caller to prescribe you the medication.

If you are still having trouble obtaining Nystatin, contact us.
