As part of their cervical screening campaign, founder Philly featured her story.


Until the age of 32, cervical screening never hurt me. But after a severe thrush infection gave me nerve damage of the vulva (a chronic pain condition called vulvodynia) – it made getting my routine checkup now abnormally painful. Here’s how I’ve learnt to navigate this brave new world of vulval pain whilst making sure I get my cervical screening done when I need to.

There is no cure for chronic nerve pain, therefore our only power is in prevention. Women cannot be empowered to prevent vulvodynia if Doctors and the healthsystem are not highlighting the causes. Ple
